Notice of Meter Reading Corrections and Billing Adjustments

2/11/2025

Dear Bitterroot Customer,

It came to our attention during the January meter reading and billing that some reads
provided for November 2024 and December 2024 may have been falsified by an employee
who is no longer with the company. January, the most current read, was taken by our field
manager, we are confident that the January figure is accurate.

The incorrect meter reads presented for billing late last year meant that for some they saw
lower-than-average usage readings for November and December but higher than normal
usage for January resulting in an overage charge, or higher than normal readings for
November and December but a lower read in January, resulting in a credit.

For some, this meant that you overpaid for the months of November and December, then
were given credit on the most current January bill for those overpayments. For others this
scenario means that you paid no overages in the previous months but saw an overage in
the current month. We are repairing these balances by aggregating usage over 3 months
(November, December, and January). In most cases this will eliminate overages that were
charged on the last billing period. For others credit amounts will show in parenthesis.

Please accept our apologies for this inconvenience. As weather allows, the current direct
read meters will be replaced with automatic reading meters, or AMR’s, eliminating the need
for manual data collection. The AMR systems not only result in more accurate readings,
they also allow for usage billing year-round no matter the weather, and they lower the
chance of unintended water loss by notifying us of high usage with built in leak detection.

We are working through the accounts to make sure that they have correct balances,
however please feel free to contact us if you have questions directly related to your account
– we can be reached at info@gemstate-water.com. You will receive a corrected statement,
or you can access your account online at any time to see adjustments.

If you would like a paper of this notice please let us know.
We truly appreciate your understanding.
